I ran my stock T5 for 12 years before it let loose.
i had never put anything other than king cobra clutches in it when they had let go, problem was it kept ripping the teeth clean off the gears, the problem was the t5 was severely underrated for the power i was pushing, the first 2 were standard 265-300ft/lb rated and the last one was a t-5z world class with the 310ft/lb rating, they just can't stand up to 600+ ft/lbs of torque, i never speed shifted or abused those trannies, they just simply were severely underrated for the application, so far with not being too rough on a 3550 its held up well, its much stronger but also underrated, but i don't drive it all that much and it has a spec stage 2 clutch that isn't real rough on it

the cobra just has the stocker in it, so once I get this thing together I'm gonna be limited by the tranny and the fuel, so far I just have some 39lb injectors from a 03/04 cobra laying around too, they are new ones that came with a 03/04 rail i had bought but 39 lbers aren't going to cut it when i turn up the wick, the 86 is already completely maxes out the 55lb injectors that are in it, so i better buy at least some 60lb injectors for this thing, figure out the fuel system and throw a t-56 in it. Also I need to figure out what engine management I want on it, with the 86 I use a dfi gen 7 system

just read that the 39lb injectors can go to 500whp with the gt500 pumps, first thing i gotta do too when i dig into that is take another look at the car and see if its a return or returnless fuel system, reading they changed mid 98 on that so it could go either way, there are 96-98 1/2 kits and 98 1/2-04 kits out there, its just gonna be a learning curve however i look at it, i'm new to modding these newer mustangs, used to just working with the foxes, so it should be interesting lol

Found this site while browsing around last night for some install pics, I'm blown away, the car looks exactly like mine except different rims, even a convertible, putting on the exact same turbo kit, this'll help big time with the install, this guy totally documented his journey with the car http://www.twinturbo4v.com/index.htm
